Participation Agreement
For clients of The Confluencers · Last updated: October 2026
Please read this before your first session. It explains what our sessions involve, the health information we need, and what you and we are each responsible for. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions and our Privacy & Cookie Policy.
About this agreement
This agreement is between you and The Confluencers. By confirming it, you tell us that you understand what the sessions involve and their possible effects, that the health information you give us is accurate, and that you choose to take part. It doesn't take away any of your legal rights.
Your health questionnaire
Before your first session we'll ask you to complete a short health questionnaire. Please answer it fully and honestly, and tell us before a session if anything changes — a new diagnosis, medication, pregnancy, injury, or a change in your mental health. We use this only to keep sessions safe and suitable for you.
Conditions to tell us about
Please tell us before a session if any of the following apply to you, as some may mean a session isn't suitable, or needs to be adapted:
Cardiovascular & respiratory: heart disease, arrhythmia, history of stroke or TIA, COPD, asthma, high or low blood pressure.
Mental health: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, unmanaged PTSD, or other psychiatric or psychological conditions.
Neurological: epilepsy, recent head trauma, or other neurological conditions.
Other: detached retina, glaucoma, severe osteoporosis, recent surgery or injury, pregnancy, or any acute infectious illness.
Medication: any prescribed medication that may affect your physical, psychological or emotional stability.
If you're unsure whether a session is right for you, please check with your doctor or another relevant health professional first. We may ask you to do so before we can go ahead.
What this work is, and isn't
Our sessions support wellbeing and self-exploration. They are not medical treatment, psychotherapy or diagnosis, and they are not a substitute for medical or mental-health care. We don't give medical advice. If you're being treated for a health condition, please continue that treatment and speak with your own clinician.
During a session
You're always in charge of your own participation. You can slow down, pause or stop at any time, and we'll never pressure you to continue. If you feel unwell, please tell us straight away. We'll adapt or stop the session if we think it's in your interest.
Online sessions
For online sessions, please join from a quiet, private space where you feel safe and won't be disturbed. Don't take part while driving or operating machinery. Make sure you have a stable connection and, where you can, someone you can reach afterwards if you need support. Because we can't be in the room with you, please tell us your location at the start of the session so that we could call for help if it were ever needed. You're responsible for your own surroundings and safety during online sessions.
Participation and conduct
- Confidentiality: you will keep confidential anything shared by other participants. No audio, video or photographs may be taken without the prior consent of the facilitator and all participants.
- Touch: you understand that respectful, appropriate physical touch may be offered during a session. You may decline or withdraw consent to any touch or interaction at any time, for any reason.
- Your wellbeing in the moment: if you feel physical or emotional discomfort, or notice a hazard, you will stop and tell the facilitator straight away.
- Discretion: the facilitator may ask you to pause or stop participating if they consider it appropriate for your safety or the safety of others.
Understanding the risks
This work can be powerful. Even when it is done carefully, it can bring on strong physical sensations and emotions, and occasionally unexpected reactions. By taking part, you confirm that we have explained the nature of the sessions and their possible effects, that you've had the chance to ask questions, and that you choose to take part knowing this.
What we are responsible for
We'll run our sessions with reasonable care and skill, and follow good practice for our kind of work.
Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to exclude. Signing it doesn't mean you've given up any of those rights, or accepted the risk of our negligence (Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 65). What you are confirming is that you understand the nature and natural effects of this work, and that the health information you've given us is accurate.
Emergencies
If you become unwell during a session, we'll stop and, if needed, call the emergency services.
Ongoing agreement
This agreement applies to this session and to future sessions you attend, unless you are asked to complete a new registration form. You agree to update your health declaration before any future session if anything has changed.
Data protection
Health information collected via the registration form is processed as special category data under Article 9(2)(a) of the UK GDPR, on the basis of your explicit consent, and only to keep you safe and suitable for participation. By completing the registration form and taking part, you consent to the processing of your health information as described above. See our Privacy & Cookie Policy for full detail. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing chat@theconfluencers.com — note that withdrawing consent to process health data may mean you are unable to continue taking part.
